The Wounded Christ

This is a limited edition of 12.

This piece was first described to me by a friend who had seen a similar piece carved from wood. At the request of his wife, I prepared the first one as a surprise Father's Day gift for him. Then my oldest daughter and wife each asked for one. Hence the decision to produce a few more for sale.

I limited the piece to 12 for a very simple reason. This is the most emotional piece (for me) I have done so far. As a former law enforcement officer, I have handled capitol prisoners. I know that under no circumstance would such a prisoner be allowed to have his hands free. That part doesn't bother me. Nailing the figure's feet down doesn't bother me.

But when I start putting the stripes on Christ's back, I also start to cry. Happens every time.

Thus only 12, no more.
